On August 27, 2020, after a break that lasted more than a month, the UKROTHE team held a working meeting again. The team agreed to hold regular scheduled meetings on the last Thursday of each month so that the teams could consult, plan and resolve urgent project issues more often. Another issue was the preparation for the first meeting of the training network, which each of the three universities created for external evaluation and assistance of experts in the project implementation. Organizational issues related to trainings were also resolved. Due to the situation caused by COVID-19, it was necessary to quickly resolve the organizational aspects of the planned activities and adapt to the new realities of work.
The UKROTHE project aims to develop a new occupational therapy curriculum according to world standards for Bachelor students. The tasks of the REHAB project are similar – they are working on a new occupational therapy program for Master students. The projects started cooperation because the exchange of experience is extremely important. We are grateful to Mariana Babych (Lviv State University of Physical Culture), who helped us to establish cooperation. On September 7, a meeting of Ukrainian representatives of both teams took place. Maryana spoke about the successful monitoring of the REHAB project and gave advice on what aspects of the project should be considered in order to be successfully monitored.
As a continuation of the cooperation between the UKROTHE and REHAB projects, a meeting of the general project managers Sharon Schillewaert (UKROTHE) and Aiya Klavina (REHAB) took place, as well as representatives of Ukrainian universities – Mariana Babych (Lviv State University of Physical Culture), Lidia Romanyk and Iryna Kondratieva (Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University).
The meeting on September 24 was extremely busy. Among the participants of the meeting, in addition to partner teams, there were: Igor Rozlutskyy (Director of Drohobych University Library), Olga Mangusheva (Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Society of Occupational Therapists), Volodymyr Golyk (Associate Professor of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and Sports Medicine at the National Medical Academy named after Shulyk). The results of the first meetings of educational networks, advisory meetings with the team of the National Erasmus Office in Ukraine (in particular with Svitlana Shytikova and Zhanna Talanova) were talked over. Anne-Marie Denolf presented a preliminary plan for the first trainings in November 2020. Sharon Schillewaert acquainted the teams with the important components of the Communication Plan, and also mentioned some necessary clarifications to the list of equipment purchases. Possible versions of the translation and publication of the book “Fundamentals of Occupational Therapy” (by Edward Duncan) were discussed.
The next meeting of the whole project team is scheduled for October 29, 2020
